Several classes gathered together to listen to my talk on mythology and about how I started writing. Mr Brazier, the Year 4 teacher, told me that one of the pupils in his class had also written a book. It's never too early to start, as I told the pupils, I started when I was just eight.
Other questions the children asked were – What books do you like to read; fantasy, science fiction, or children’s stories? How long does it take you to write a book? Have you written any other books? – and many, many more very interesting questions.
At the end of the talk the children gave me a big cheer, and to complete my visit, I was given a tour of the new library. David Walliams, one of the children’s favourite authors, had a special display there. So I was especially honored when Mr Brazier asked me for a poster of The Company of Goblins so that I could have a spot next to his fantastic book, Gansta Granny.
